In this podcast episode of WYCE’s Community Connection, Phil Tower discusses Care Resources PACE’s Christmas in July collection drive with Veronica Horsely-Pettigrew and Karen Altom.
Care Resources is a Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE®), a national healthcare program funded by Medicare/Medicaid. They are a community-based program for adults 55 years or older that promotes healthy, independent living and helps prevent nursing home placement.
The organization is planning a Christmas in July fundraiser to encourage people to buy personal hygiene products as well as other fun items needed by participants.
“Basic essentials such as shampoos, deodorants, and toothbrushes as well as activity books including adult coloring books and word searches are just some examples of the items we’re looking for to stock our holiday bags and Bingo store,” says Altom who’s going on her tenth year of organizing this drive.
