Care Resources PACE of Lowell Progress Updates!

We’re excited to have started construction of our new site in Lowell, located at 11730 Fulton St. SE. This will be our organization’s second location in West Michigan, in addition to our Grand Rapids location. The building is slated to open fall 2024. Check out the photos below to see our progress!

Week of 7/3/24 – Updates include:

  • Poured concrete sidewalks around building
  • Continued with electrical fixture install
  • Prep for gym ceiling for paint
  • Millwork install continues
  • Installed rooftop curb for kitchen exhaust hood
  • HVAC
  • Ran gas supply pipe to generator
  • Upcoming milestones: Final paint (7/8), epoxy floors (7/11), concrete paving (7/17), and base coat asphalt (7/25)

Week of 6/28/24 – Updates include:

  • Installed snowmelt in sidewalks
  • Continued with install of cabinets and countertops
  • Started installing light fixtures in ceiling grid
  • Started installing HVAC supply and returns in ceilings
  • Started installing edge metal/fascia at masonry walls
  • Poured concrete for dumpster pad, city sidewalk, and East parking lot curb
  • Poured concrete bases for canopy columns
  • Upcoming milestones: Final paint (7/8), epoxy floors (7/11), concrete paving (7/17), and base coat asphalt (7/29)

Week of 6/21/24 – Updates include:

  • Graded for curbs and sidewalks
  • Main canopy soffit complete
  • Started work on snowmelt system
  • Hang and finish drywall window returns where able
  • Installed underground irrigation sleeves
  • Painted remaining door frames
  • Installed water heaters
  • Upcoming milestones: Start final paint (7/8), epoxy floors (7/11), concrete paving (7/17), and base coat asphalt (7/29)

Week of 6/14/24 – Updates include:

  • Installed hard tile (ceramic/porcelain)
  • Poured South patio, employee patio, generator pad, and half of county sidewalk
  • Storefront install nearly complete
  • Continued with cabinet install on main canopy soffit
  • Continued ceiling grid install
  • Prime and first coat of paint complete
  • Soffit on canopy underway
  • Upcoming milestones: Snowmelt (6/19), epoxy (6/21), base coat asphalt (7/9), and kitchen equipment (7/10)

Week of 6/7/24 – Updates include:

  • Brick veneer nearly complete
  • Soffit on canopy underway
  • Site concrete prep
  • Wall paint in Area B
  • Cabinet install underway
  • Storefront windows installed
  • South and West side of the building graded and topsoiled
  • Upcoming milestones: Site concrete (6/10), snowmelt (6/19), epoxy (6/21), base coat asphalt (7/9), and flooring begins (7/16)

Week of 5/31/24 – Updates include:

  • Continuing MAC siding and trims on North side of building
  • Completed drywall finishing (with exception of window returns)
  • Installed gas service line
  • Installed clerestory windows at gym
  • Measured for ACM panels
  • Started pulling wire for Area A
  • Painted door frames in Area A and West side of Area B
  • Upcoming milestones: Site concrete (6/10), snowmelt (6/17), epoxy (6/21), and base coat asphalt (7/9)

Week of 5/24/24 – Updates include:

  • Installed precast window sills
  • Installed lower window frames at exterior gym wall
  • Started installing glass on North side of building and East gym wall
  • Prime and first coat of paint in Area A and started on West side of Area B
  • MAC siding delivered on site, started installing trims on North wall
  • Installed gas meter on building (service line to be installed next week)
  • Continued drywall finishing in Area B
  • Upcoming milestones: Site concrete (6/10), millwork (6/10), snowmelt (6/17), and epoxy (6/21)

Week of 5/17/24 – Updates include:

  • Completed masonry work at gym and continued along East wall
  • Installed soffit sheathing on main canopy
  • MEP above ceiling work continues
  • Began installing exterior window frames on North side of building
  • Received glass delivery
  • Drywall hanging in Area B nearly complete
  • Drywall finishing in Area B & Gym
  • Upcoming milestones: Prime and first coat paint (5/20), snowmelt (6/10), site concrete (6/17), and install ACP panels (7/8)

Week of 5/10/24 – Updates include:

  • Electrical rough in for main entrance canopy and Day Room A bulkhead
  • Drywall hanging in East half of Area B
  • Drywall finishing in West half of Area B
  • Completed masonry work at courtyard and continuing across South wall
  • Continued HVAC and electrical above ceiling work
  • Framed radius bulkheads
  • Upcoming milestones: Canopy soffit and Mac siding (5/20), snowmelt (6/3), site concrete (6/17), and ACP panels (7/1)

Week of 5/3/24 – Updates include:

  • Continued masonry work on West and Southwest walls
  • Completed drywall finishing in Area A
  • Continued drywall hanging in Area B
  • Started drywall finishing in Area B
  • Installed roof membrane at North entrance canopy
  • Continued MEP above ceiling work
  • Installed soffit framing on main entrance canopy
  • Upcoming milestones: Prime and apply first coat paint in Area A (5/13), canopy soffit and MAC siding (5/20), snowmelt (6/3), site concrete (6/17), and ACM panel install (7/1)

Week of 4/26/24 – Updates include:

  • Received brick delivery and began masonry work
  • Continued drywall finishing in Area A
  • Started drywall hanging in Area B
  • North entrance canopy plywood sheathing installed
  • MEP above ceiling work continued
  • Wood blocking completed
  • Upcoming milestones: Snowmelt (5/6) and site concrete (5/28)

Week of 4/19/24 – Updates include:

  • Energized electrical meter for primary service
  • Completed MEP rough ins and inspections for Area B
  • Continued with drywall hanging in Area A
  • Started drywall finishing in Area A
  • Received drywall delivery for Area B
  • Completed detailing and structural inspection for main entrance canopy
  • Continued exterior Z-furring and rigid insulation
  • Upcoming milestones: Start masonry work (4/23), snowmelt (5/6), and site concrete (5/28)

Week of 4/12/24 – Updates include:

  • Started hanging drywall in Area A
  • Installed water meter and turned on water service
  • Started wood framing on North canopy
  • Continued work installing wood backing in Area B
  • Continued MEP rough in work for Area B
  • Completed gold coat touch ups and started installing rigid insulation and Z furring
  • Completed secondary wiring for primary electrical service
  • Upcoming milestones: Masonry (4/17), Area B drywall delivery (4/18), snowmelt (5/6), and site concrete (5/28)

Week of 4/5/24 – Updates include:

  • Poured transformer pad and set transformer
  • Continued installing “in wall” blocking
  • Completed MEP rough ins for Area A
  • Completed MEP and Building rough in inspection for Area A
  • Received drywall delivery for Area A
  • Installed sill flashing for ACM panels
  • Installed roofing on vestibules A and B
  • Upcoming milestones: Drywall Area A (4/8), masonry (4/10), snowmelt (5/6), and site concrete (5/28)

Week of 3/29/24 – Updates include:

  • Erected main entrance canopy steel
  • Continued work installing interior door frames
  • Continued work on MEP rough ins
  • Installed conduit and concrete bases for site lighting
  • Installed wood cap on parapet walls at vestibules A & B
  • Installed gravel sub grade for North parking lot
  • Installed conduit and pulled wires from service pole to transformer location
  • Upcoming milestones: Hang drywall in Area A (4/8), masonry (4/8), snowmelt (5/6), and site concrete (5/28)

Week of 3/22/24 – Updates include:

  • Installed roof drain pipes
  • Completed sub grade for East parking lot and started work on North parking lot
  • Continued installing blocking for millwork and fixtures
  • Set 85% of interior door frames
  • Continued MEP in-wall rough in work
  • Set columns for main entrance canopy
  • Upcoming milestones: Drywall (4/4), primary power (4/8), masonry (4/8), and snowmelt (5/6)

Week of 3/15/24 – Updates include:

  • Continued duct work installation
  • Started on plumbing rough in work
  • Started on electrical rough in work
  • Installed conduit to transformer location for primary power and Comcast
  • Started installing interior wall blocking
  • Continued building sub grade for East parking lot
  • Installed steel supports for knee wall in participant shower 109
  • Upcoming milestones: Drywall (4/4), primary power (4/8), masonry (4/8), and snowmelt (5/6)

Week of 3/8/24 – Updates include:

  • Interior wall framing nearly completed
  • Stone backfill over water detention chambers
  • Completed water and sanitary sewer connections
  • Installed storm sewer system in North parking lot
  • Continued work installing main ductwork runs
  • Framed roof drain scuppers on vestibules
  • Upcoming milestones: MEP wall rough ins (3/11), primary power (4/8), drywall (4/10) and snowmelt (4/22)

Week of 3/1/24 – Updates include:

  • Continued interior wall layout
  • Started framing interior walls
  • Set roof top HVAC units
  • Received first ductwork delivery
  • Installed storm water detention chambers
  • Connected storm water leads from the building into the storm sewer system
  • Started hanging main ductwork runs
  • Upcoming milestones: MEP wall rough ins (3/11), primary power (4/8), drywall (4/10) and snowmelt (4/22)

Week of 2/23/24 – Updates include:

  • Poured remaining interior slab at Southwest and East sections of building
  • Started layout for interior walls
  • Started layout for HVAC main trunk runs
  • Continued work on roofing details
  • Installed temporary pipe on roof drains
  • Site clean up
  • Upcoming milestones: Set HVAC rooftop units (2/29), interior framing (3/1), MEP wall rough ins (3/20), and drywall (4/10)

Week of 2/16/24 – Updates include:

  • Completed stone sub base for underground storm water detention system
  • Installed insulation and roofing membrane on all main roof sections
  • Covered all openings with plastic and began temporary heat for the building
  • Completed liquid weather barrier on all exterior walls
  • Completed fascia and soffit blocking on gym
  • Installed RTU curbs and roof drains
  • Fine graded for interior slab and poured Northwest section of floor
  • Upcoming milestones: Interior framing (2/28), MEP wall rough ins (3/13), drywall (4/3), and set RTUs (4/8)

Week of 2/9/24 – Updates include:

  • Electrical underground completed and inspected
  • Temp lights installed inside building
  • Completed exterior parapet/overhang framing at high roofs and vestibules
  • Continued work on sub base for underground storm water detention system
  • Continued wood blocking at door openings, window openings, and parapet walls
  • Hung remaining exterior sheathing and continued work on liquid weather barrier
  • Installed RTU support frames and steel channel brick ledge on main roof
  • Upcoming milestones: Start roofing (2/12), heat building (2/14-2/15), start interior concrete (2/15-2/19), and interior framing (3/1)

Week of 2/2/24 – Updates include:

  • Completed plumbing underground and started on electrical underground
  • Installed exterior sheathing on 95% of building
  • Framed north exterior wall
  • Started framing on high roof overhangs and parapet walls
  • Completed liquid weather barrier on 75% of building
  • Installed plywood on back of low roof parapet walls
  • Started grading for underground storm water detention system
  • Upcoming milestones: Roofing (2/12), heat building (2/15), interior concrete (2/19), and interior framing (3/1)

Week of 1/5/24 – Updates include:

  • Completed upper roof steel and decking
  • Installed angle bracing
  • Received exterior stud delivery
  • Started layout for exterior walls
  • Started framing for South and East exterior walls
  • Upcoming milestones: Plumbing underground (1/8), electrical underground (1/15) and storm water detention system (1/22)

Week of 12/22/23 – Updates include:

  • Set remaining support beams
  • Set all remaining bar joists
  • Continued detailing structural steel
  • Started installing perimeter angle
  • Installed bar joist bridging/bracing
  • Upcoming milestones: Exterior stud delivery (1/3), exterior framing and underground rough-ins (1/8)

Week of 12/15/23 – Updates include:

  • Set structural columns
  • Set main support beams for lower roof
  • Started setting bar joists for lower roof
  • Started setting main support beams for upper roof
  • Upcoming milestones: Exterior framing, roofing and underground rough-ins (1/8) and water tap (1/17)

Week of 12/08/23 – Updates include:

  • Insulated and backfilled North foundations
  • Backfilled interior footings
  • Deck and joists delivered to site
  • Structural columns and beams delivered to site
  • New silt fence installed for soil and erosion control
  • Upcoming milestones: Exterior framing, roofing and underground rough-ins (1/8) and water tap (1/17)

Week of 11/24/23 – Updates include:

  • Installed footing drain around building
  • Backfilled foundations
  • Backfilled building footprint to slab grade
  • Upcoming milestones: Steel (12/7) and exterior framing (1/8)

Week of 11/17/23 – Updates include:

  • Formed and poured East and West foundation walls
  • Energized temp electrical service
  • Insulated foundation walls
  • Started backfilling foundations
  • Continued importing sand and exporting unsuitable material
  • Upcoming milestones: Set steel (12/7) and exterior framing (1/8)

Week of 11/03/23 – Updates include:

  • Continued importing sand and exporting top soil
  • Preliminary compaction test for foundations
  • Set grade and prepped South building line for foundations
  • Staked building corner control points
  • Continued work on site access road and concrete pump truck pad
  • Upcoming milestones: Start concrete foundations (11/6)

Week of 10/27/23 – Updates include:

  • Cleared site and stripped top soil
  • Installed silt fence for soil and erosion control
  • Started exporting top soil and importing sand
  • Started building temp road for site access
  • Upcoming milestones: Foundation concrete begins (11/6), steel erection begins (12/7), roofing and exterior framing and sheeting begins (1/8)
