Special Visit from Mini Horses at Care Resources PACE Featured on WZZM13

Care Resources PACE surprised its participants with a special visit from two miniature horses, Jack and Tex. The small but spirited therapy horses arrived at our Day Center to spread comfort, connection, and a little bit of magic to our participants. The visit was part of a growing initiative created by Molly and Melanie Wade, two sisters from Lowell with Down Syndrome, who run a program they call “Mol and Mel’s Miracle Machine”.

As the horses were led through the Day Center, participants lit up, reaching out to pet the animals, laughing, and even sharing personal stories with each other.

“It has just been so wonderful to see our participants smiling and reminiscing. They’re building a sense of community here and also sharing stories from their past,” said Lorelei Smits, a recreation therapist at Care Resources PACE. “It just helps, as Mol and Mel’s Mission is to help bring some happiness.”
